After learning ‘how to swim’ as a child I had several bad experiences as an adult in local swimming pools and just became too fearful of the water to ever go in again. Becky was recommended by a friend after I couldn’t find the right sort of help anywhere else; I needed one to one support to overcome my fear.
I was extremely nervous before the first session and was prepared to make excuses and go!
Becky put me at ease by taking a lot of time to understand what my issues with water were and what situations had led to my fear of the water, we set targets I felt I could achieve. She made me feel confident in her capabilities and not judged at all. I soon felt confident and comfortable enough to trust Becky in the water and by the second session I was feeling secure enough to take on skills that I never thought I’d achieve.
Overcoming this fear has really given me the sense I can overcome other challenges, as well as have the opportunity to use the Spa voucher I was gifted! I would recommend Becky to anyone who wants to overcome their fear of water for whatever reason. You will be in safe and caring hands.

Rachael Smith1 April 2024I have never liked water on my face, nor have I ever been confident around water. If my feet cannot touch the bottom of a pool I am so uncomfortable, I would always need to be by the edge of a pool when taking my daughter for a fun swim. As my daughter is getting older- I don’t want her to be the same as me. I always dreaded lessons at school and had an awful experience with a teacher which has never left my mind. I would like my daughter to be as water confident as her father, which I am not. I had decided now is the time! I met with Becky, we discussed my fears, concerns but also my goals. Bit by bit we built on what was needed, at my pace, my own time and Becky explained everything to me so well, something that no one had ever done for me. After a short while, I was able to submerge myself- something I had never confidently done- to then swimming 3/4 of a length of a pool and breathing under water. I felt so happy, proud and this is all thanks to Becky! I now feel happier at the thought of swimming and no longer needing to keep my face away from the water, as this was my biggest drawback. I’m looking forward to having some time to swim now and showing my daughter I can do it! Such an excellent experience, I would thoroughly recommend to anyone! Thankyou for getting me back in the water- and making me feel happier in it!
